Grace Byrne from Carlow is RILSA National Primary School Champion 2017

The 4th National RILSA Primary School’s Championship took place at Sharkx Newbridge recently with a good field of young players representing Ballinabranna N.S. Carlow, Newbridge Educate Together and Ballymany N.S. Kildare to contend the 2017 Championship. Grace Byrne from Carlow showed great promise as she played some great snooker throughout the event to take the title against fellow RILSA Scholarship star, Roisin Beale from Kildare in the final.   Saturday 23 September saw TG4’s Face book live special promotion on women in sport take place at the Croke Park Hotel. CAITLIN TAKES GOLD @ INAUGURAL DUBLIN COUNTY FEDERATION CHAMPIONSHIP

L-R Faye Jameson & Caitlin Tucker The RILSA Dublin Inaugural County Championship was held in Joey’s recently with Caitlin Tucker taking the title against Faye Jameson in a close encounter. This Dublin County Championship is part of the RILSA County promotions in 2017, with Offaly, Kildare and Carlow already having played their events earlier in the year.  Meath, Tipperary are next on the cards.  It’s fantastic progress for our County Federations and RILSA as the leading organisation.   Sandra Bryan from Wexford has been playing snooker over 10 years now.  Her first love is Pool and Sandra has won the National Women’s Pool Title on 5 occasions along with representing Ireland both at European and World level at Pool on many occasions. Paul Hamevy Wins Stars Academy Under 14 National Schools Championship at Joey’s Dublin

The Under 14 National Schools Stars Academy Championship took place at Joey’s Dublin recently and for the 3rd year in a row the Larry O’Dea Perpetual Trophy was going back to the CBS Westland Row after young Paul Hamevy took the title with a 2-0 win over school friend Leon Clarke in the final. It was good to see the girls from the CBS make progress as Annie Boyd reached the semis only to be knocked out by Paul Hamevy the eventual winner.
