Annette Newman from Carlow retained her National Billiards Title at Sharkx recently making it 3 in a row after a great display of Billiards during the round robin timed matches.

Annette accumulated her highest ever score finishing on 276 points with Christine Carr from Kildare taking runner up place on 187 followed in 3rd by Valerie Maloney from Offaly with 138 points.  It was great to see the young Roisin Beale from Kildare break the 100 mark with 119 points on the day.

Annette has dominated the women’s Billiards Tour since it’s inception back in 2015, she has won every event since, a remarkable achievement for her and a record that will take some beating in the future.

Christine Carr who won the Intermediate women’s Billiards recently is close on Annette’s heels along with Valerie Maloney who has improved greatly over the past season.  Our junior, Roisin Beale is making great progress also and we are looking forward to a great Women’s Billiards Tour in 2018.

14 Women and Girls now make up the Women’s Billiards Tour here in Ireland and we wish them all every success for the future.

Congratulations to Annette on taking the National Billiards Title for the 3rd year in a row and to Christine, Valerie and Roisin for their great performances throughout.

Thanks to Bernie and Paul of Sharkx for all their help and support towards women’s billiards.
