Annette Newman from Carlow retained the National Billiards Title at the RILSA Academy in Sharkx Newbridge recently.  Annette was in fine form throughout the event and has improved greatly over the past year.

The 2015 -2016 Women’s Billiards season was dominated by Annette having won the Championship in 2015 followed by winning all 4 National Ranking events.  Annette has started the new Billiards season with the National title once again and remains Ireland’s number 1 also in both Billiards and Snooker, a fantastic record for the Carlow woman.

Valerie Maloney from Offaly took the runner up spot and now starts the new season as Ireland’s number 2, a great result for Valerie who has improved greatly in both her snooker and billiards.

Tina Keogh from Laois and Christine Carr from Kildare were the semi-finalists on the evening and take 3rd and 4th places on the new National rankings respectively.

Congratulations to Annette on her win and keeping a 100% record in the women’s billiards and congrats to Valerie on her fine performance.  Well done to Tina and Christine on their great efforts, all these women are improving all the time and are setting standards as they go.

Thanks to everyone who supported women’s billiards and we hope to see more women and girls take up the sport in 2017.  Thanks to Bernie and Paul of Sharkx who have supported RILSA and is now the home of Ireland’s women’s Billiards
