Annette Newman continued her winning streak recently by taking the 2nd Billiards Ranking, the Stars Academy Masters at Sharkx Newbridge.

This Ranking was the closest yet as Christine Carr and Tina Keogh made fantastic efforts to close the gap on the current Champion and number 1 Annette.

In the round robin match between Annette and Tina only 3 points separated them at the end of their timed match, while only 6 points separated Christine in her match against Annette.  It’s great to see the improvement among these women as the season progresses.

In the end when all the points were counted after the round robin matches, Annette won by 2 points ahead of Christine in Runner Up spot while 13 points separated Christine and Tina who was 3rd in the group.

Annette keeps the pressure on as number 1 on the National Billiards Rankings, with Christine and Tina level on points but Christine moves into number 2 spot with only 7 merit points between them.

Still a great deal to play for as we move through the season for these women.

Congratulations to Annette on her win and to Christine and indeed Tina for fine performances on the evening.

Thanks to Paul & Bernie of Sharkx for their fantastic hospitality as usual and to all the girls for taking part.

These events are played in great spirit and support for one another regardless of the results.  Fantastic sporting friendships that will encourage more women and girls into the sport of Billiards.
