Annette Newman of the Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association received an award from the Carlow Volunteer Service for her work locally in helping and supporting women’s cue sports in the County.

Annette has been active in support of our sport in Co Carlow since 2008 and her involvement within the local schools in particular Ballinabranna and St Laserians recently along with Hacketstown, Ballon and Leighlinbridge with the introduction and supply of tables to these areas over the past 5 years.

Annette has always made time to help out and support our young girls within our local schools and indeed on the National circuit also.  Organising and encouraging these girls to take up the sport is a role that Annette has been very much in touch with as her vision for a bright future for these children is realised and becoming a reality due to her input with the initiatives introduced by RILSA since it’s reformation in 2014.

Annette takes her position as RILSA Carlow County Federation Secretary, seriously and makes sure that the promotion at County level and grass root cue sports for girls is maintained and supported.

Congratulations to Annette on her deserving award and a big thank you to Natasha and everyone involved at Carlow Volunteer Service.

“Never Doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the World; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.  Thanks for the time you give”

So very true the message above that Annette received on her award card.
