The Republic of Ireland Ladies Billiards Association held their first of many planned Billiards Coaching sessions during 2020 with Aidan Murray at their Academy in Sharkx Newbridge recently.

We were delighted to see newcomer in Joanna Ward taking up the sport and will be ready to get into the new season events soon.

World Billiards Coach, Aidan Murray was on hand to put the girls through their paces on the evening and will be conducting a number of coaching sessions over the coming weeks and months to help improve the standard of play before the season starts in February.

Also on the cards is a number of sessions to help our players who will be heading off to the first ever World Women’s Billiards Tour which will kick off at the Maltings Q Club in Kings Lynn UK on Saturday 21st March 2020.

This event, the British Open will be run by Phillip Welham and Brittany Chambers supported by the other members of the sub committee, David Richardson and Dan Carroll and the WBL with Chris Coumbe as the representative of the Board.

At the moment Ireland will have 4 players attending the British Open in Kings Lynn and hopefully we can get another few entries before the closing date which will be published on the World Billiards Website very soon.

Thanks to all the girls who attended the coaching session and to Aidan for all his help and support and not forgetting Paul and Bernie of Sharkx for all their support also.
