The RILSA 6 Red Plate Competition was won by Carrie Randle from Kilkenny recently at the CYMS Newbridge.
These plate competitions are just as competitive as the main tournament and are very important to stage in order to give our players more competition and providing fantastic value for money.
Many of our players travel long distances to participate in our events so we are fully aware of making sure that their support is appreciated and worth while.
In the top half of the draw we saw Michelle French take on the Jennifer Earle in the quarters. Michelle played well to win and move to the semis. Rachael Bradley was in good form against Christine Carr in their quarter final match and took it on the colours to win and meet Michelle in the semis.
Carrie Randle had a good win over Roisin Beale in their quarter final match to move into the semis against Valerie Maloney. Carrie continued her good form against Valerie in the semis to take the match for a place in the final. Likewise at the top of the draw, Michelle won well against Rachael to meet Carrie in the final.
The final itself saw some good snooker from both players with them level at 1-1 in this best of 3. It was all down to the last frame where Michelle had chances to take it however Carrie took it on the pink for a good win.
Congratulations to Carrie on her win and well done to Michelle on a great performance. Thanks to all the players for all their support. Thanks also to Jim Carrick and committee of the CYMS for all their help and support.
