Dave Seales took the recent Griffith Tour 3 at Sharkx Newbridge. The Griffith Open has been going now since 1991 and developed as part of the €4,000 Griffith Tour events over the last 4 years and is very successful indeed.
Dave beat veteran Larry O’Dea 2 nil in the final, with breaks of 22 and 31 along the way. In the semis against Dan Carroll, Dave didn’t put a foot wrong during the 2 frame win again with consistent breaks of 22, 23, 26, 34. Dave now goes into number 2 spot on the rankings just 10 points in the difference between him and his son Gary who after reaching the quarters this time round puts him into number 1 spot. The rankings are all important as the top 4 players will receive a substantial monetary return at the end of the season. Congratulations to Dave on his win and to Larry on a fine performance throughout.
The top 4 are (1) Gary Seales 320, (2) Dave Seales 310, (3) Ronan Deegan 300, and (4) Dan Carroll 300 with 4 more tour events ahead the players are close and the rankings can change every tour, so still all to play for.
In the Plate competition, Annette Newman beat Leon Costello in their final, putting Annette into the number 2 spot in these rankings and again there is a good prize fund for the top 4 in this. Topping the plate rankings is Dave Seales who is really making his mark in both tours this season so far. 3rd place goes to Leon Costello and 4th to Hrvoje Ribaric, both of whom are making their first appearance in the tour this season. Congratulations to Annette on her win and to Leon on his fine performance in the plate.
Thanks to all the players for their support and to Bernie of Sharkx for as usual providing excellent facilities on the day.
