The Griffith Snooker Tour Championship took place in Sharkx Newbridge recently and a great days snooker was had by all in attendance. Simon Scott was in form on the day, beating Gary Seales in the quarters 2-1 and Dan Carroll in the semis 2-0 for a place in the final. In the bottom half of the draw, Ronan Deegan was also in form with breaks of 29 and 42 beat Larry O’Dea in their quarter final match 2-0, however his match against the inform Annette Newman was a much closer affair with the match level at 1-1 it came down to a black ball, where Ronan potted it to meet Simon in the final.

Simon & Ronan

The final was a tense affair at first until the players got into their stride and the match level at 1-1, both players had their chances in the last frame but Ronan held out to win and take the title of Tour Champion 2014.  Congratulations to Ronan on his win and to Simon and his fine performance on the day. Thanks to all the players who played in the Tour this season and we look forward to the new season starting in January 2015.  Thanks to Bernie of Sharkx and her staff for providing excellent facilities for our events and also to Derek Fagan of Joeys in Dublin and Marian in the Ivy Rooms Carlow for their help and support this season.
