Emirjeta Doda who represented Albania at the International Irish Ladies Open at D’Arcy McGees over last weekend, won her first ever International event in the 6 Red Open.
After the round robin stages of the Irish Open, players were placed into the Main,Challenge Trophy and 6 Red events.
In her semi final bout against Margaret Browne, Emirjeta had to focus as the match went level at 2-2. In the 5th and final frame, it was to go all the way to a black ball finish in which Emirjeta potted to send her into her first International final.
On the other table between Jennifer Earle and Rachael Bradley, it was the same situation where both players went level at 2-2 and this 5th and final frame was to go down to a black ball decider where Jennifer was to pot for match and meet Emirjeta in the final again her first International Final also, what is the chances of both semi final matches finishing on the same scoreline and black ball finishes
The final saw Emirjeta storm off to seal frame 1 comfortable but Jennifer brought frame 2 down to the pink and black with Emirjeta only needing the pink while Jennifer needed both, however after a bout of safety it was Emirjeta who potted pink for frame. Frame 3 was to go all the way to a black ball where Jennifer had a few chances at potting but let Emirjeta in to sink the black for frame and match.
Congratulations to Emirjeta on her win and indeed Jennifer on a fine performance. This will certainly boost their confidence as they progress during the current RILSA tour.
