Emirjeta Doda from Dublin retained her National Under 21 Title at Sharkx Newbridge recently, making it her 4th U21 Championship Title in 5 years and was runner up on the other occasion, an amazing achievement for her as she set’s the bar in Irish Junior Ladies Snooker here in Ireland.

On her way to the final, Emirjeta had a good wins over Mariel Sue Montes from Kildare in the last 16, Edel Hannon also from Kildare in the Quarters to meet Carrie Randle from Kilkenny in the semis.  Emirjeta had to play good snooker against Carrie who has taken to the RILSA tour over the past year making great progress but Emirjeta was determined to make every shot count to reach her 5th Junior Championship Event final and this she did taking the blue and pink to secure her win over Carrie.

The other half of the draw saw Rachel Bradley from Kildare and the current National Special Needs Champion make great progress as she saw off Eva Doran (Kildare)in the last 16 and Ava Lynam (Kildare) in the Quarters to meet Megan Randle (Kilkenny) the current RILSA National Intermediate Champion in the semis, Rachel played great snooker to take the win over Megan who played good snooker throughout to meet Emirjeta in the final.

Emirjeta was now totally focused and started with an 18 break to put the pressure on from the get go and followed with a 16 soon after, however Rachel fought back well to get back into the match but Emirjeta went for her shots and stormed ahead towards the end of the frame needed to seal the win and retain her National Under 21 Title.

Congratulations to Emirjeta on her win and to Rachel on her fine performance.  A big thank you to all the girls for their participation in making the event a great success once again.  Thanks to Aileen, Deirdre and Liz for all their help and to Suzanne and Annette who refereed the final.  Thanks to Bernie & Paul of Sharkx for all their help and support.
