Fergal O’Brien paid a visit to St Marks Special School in Newbridge recently. The teachers, staff and students were delighted to have Fergal at the School.
Fergal played a few frames of snooker with the current National Special Needs Champion Stephen Sheerin and former RILSA Special Needs National Champion and current number I on the RILSA Intermediate Rankings, Rachel Bradley who attend the School in Newbridge.
Fergal said “that it was a pleasure to visit and will pay a visit in September next”, such was his delight and interest in seeing these Schools make progress in the sport. He also paid complement to the standard of the players and commitment of both the teachers and RILSA in their support and such fantastic progress is been made.
Alma Carley, the Principal was delighted with the table in the School and has seen the many benefits it has made to the students in their daily lives both in School and at home. Fergal’s visit is most welcomed and all the students are looking forward to the return visit in September.
Thanks to Aileen O’Brien for all her hard work at the School in promoting the sport along with Alma and staff of St Marks, we in RILSA are thrilled to have them on board and look forward to many years of great support and competition with them.
