The Ladies Irish Pool Team did us proud in France last week in reaching the final of the Ladies European 8 Ball Pool Championships.  Two of our RILSA players, Sandra Bryan and Danielle Randle were part of the team.

In their group matches, Ireland did exceptionally well starting with a 8-7 loss against England A only to follow with a fantastic 11-4 win over Scotland.  England B won 9-6 against the Irish but they came back again to take a vital win 8-7 over France A, again followed by another fantastic win 14-1 over the Channel Islands B to keep the team in with a good chance to qualify to the semis.

Ireland had another close encounter with The Channel Islands A, winning it 8-7 they then went on to beat the France B team 9-6 followed with another close match against Northern Ireland 8-7 which put them through.  Their last match against Wales went in the Welsh teams favour 9-6 but wasn’t good enough for the Welsh team and Ireland went into the semis.

In the semis Ireland had a very close match again against France A but came out the winners 8-7 for a place in the final.  Both the English teams were in action in the other semi with England A winning 8-5 over England B

In the final the England A team came out the victors against Ireland 8-3, congrats to the English team on their win but we here in Ireland and the Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association want to congratulate the Irish team on a fantastic Championships and that the should all be very proud of themselves.

Again well done to Sandra, Danielle and the rest of the team on their success at the European 8 Ball Pool Championships 2016
