Killien Walsh from St Josephs N.S. Hacketstown Carlow, took the Stars Academy Ireland National Primary School Snooker Championships at the Ivy Rooms Carlow beating fellow School student Megan King in the final.
In the last 16 Killian beat Paul Fitzgerald (Ballinabranna) and Danny Delaney also (Ballinabranna) in the quarters but had a very close match against Danny Broderick (Ballon) in their semi final on a black ball to reach the final.
In the other half of the draw we saw Megan King (Hacketstown) have wins over Ros Dermody (Ballinabranna) last 16, Kevin Kennedy (Ballinabranna) in the quarters and fellow School student James Whelan in the semis to meet Killian in the final.
Killian played well and beat Megan on the pink ball to take the title. Congratulations to Killian on his win and well done to Megan on her fine performance.
In the Plate competition final, Jordan Delahunty from Ballon beat Paul Fitzgerald from Ballinabranna to take the plate title. Well done to Jordan and Paul for fine performances on the day.
