The Republic of Ireland Ladies Billiard Association held their 12th billiard coaching session at the CYMS Newbridge recently.
Aidan Murray our World Billiard Coach was on hand to oversee the session where Aidan put the girls through their paces with shot selection and practice games. Aidan gives his time freely towards our association and the girls really appreciate everything he does for female billiards here in Ireland.
His experience and knowledge of the sport is second to none and our success in building the female sport here in Ireland is all down to Aidan and his great work over the past 5 years.
The girls were delighted with the standard of coaching and expertise from Aidan and are looking forward to the next session of coaching.
We are looking for more females to get involved in the sport and already a number of inquiries have come from some of our snooker players who wish to take up billiards.
Thanks to all the girls who attended the coaching session in Newbridge and we thank Jim Carrick and everyone involved at the CYMS for all their help and support.
Please check out our calendar of events on this site for upcoming events.
Since we started this initiative back in December 2015, we have grown the sport from a five events in 2016 to now 13 events this year along with 20 coaching sessions which is an amazing achievement in such a very short time.
We have yet the 3 National Championship Titles to look forward to in the Amateur, Intermediate and 100UP so plenty of billiards yet to go for 2019.
