The RILSA National 6 Red Snooker Championship was held at the new RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge, again great care was taken at this event with social distance, washing of hands and equipment as per guidelines. Face masks were worn at the club except when at play and momentarily for photos.
Louise Jordan is on a winning streak as she took her second win in succession, adding her second National title to her name after winning the National 10 Red in 2019. The National 6 Red title win was well deserved after a great display of snooker by Louise.
In the quarters Annette Newman was in form against Stephanie Foley and took the win 2 nil to move into the semis, Christine Carr was also playing well against Tina Keogh who was also in form with the match at 1-1 it went to the wire in the 3rd frame with Christine potting pink for frame and match to meet Annette in the semis
In the other half of the draw, Sandra Bryan saw off Carrie Randle 2 nil in a close encounter to put her through to the semis and Louise Jordan had to dig deep to take the 2-1 win over Megan Randle to complete the semi final line up.
Christine started well to take the first frame but Annette responded well to level the match however it was going all the way to the pink ball in frame 3 after Annette got a snooker to keep her in the match but Christine potted a long pink to take the win and move into her first National Championship final.
Louise was playing good snooker and she had to in order to overcome a strong performance from Sandra, this she did taking both frames needed to meet Christine in the final.
In the final Christine had a few chances to take frame 1 but Louise took it on the blue and continued her good form in frame 2 to take it and title of RILSA National 6 Red Champion 2020.
Congratulations to Louise on her win and to Christine on a fine performance. Thanks to all the players for their participation and support. Thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their help and support
