Louise Jordan wins the Maureen Butler Cup at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge.  Louise played solid snooker throughout the event and is delighted to have won the title this time round after been runner up in 2019.

The prelim rounds saw Sandra Bryan make it into the quarters with a good 2 nil win over Christine Carr while Megan Randle also went through to meet Sandra in the quarters with a good 2 nil win over Claire Mill.  Megan’s twin sister Carrie was also on the winning side with a good 2-1 win over the improving Stephanie Foley to complete the quarter final line up.

Annette Newman played good snooker against Joanna Ward with a 2 nil win to see her into the semis while Megan Randle played well to see off Sandra Bryan 2-1 to meet Annette in the semis.  At the other half of the draw Louise Jordan took both frames needed to win against Carrie Randle to move into the semis while Cathy Dunne took a 2 nil win over Michelle French to complete the semi final line up

Megan had to play well to overcome a win over Annette and this she did taking the win 2 nil to reach the final and Louise had to dig deep to take a 2-1 win over Cathy to reach her second Maureen Butler Cup final in a row.

In the final Louise took frame 1 on a black ball and Megan had a chance to take the second after clearing from brown to pink and miscued on the black for Louise to win 2 frames to nil, very unlucky for Megan indeed in this very closely contested final.

Congratulations to Louise on her win and well done to Megan on a fine performance.  Thanks to all the girls for their participation and support.  Thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for providing a very safe environment at the club for our players who have gone above and beyond the guidelines required to ensure an enjoyable and safe place to play.
