Megan Randle from Kilkenny won the Maureen Butler Plate Competition at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently in a very close final match against Tine Keogh from Laois.
Megan who played good snooker to oust the youngster Jennifer Earle from Dublin in the semis with a number of small breaks to seal the win and a place in the final.
The other end of the draw saw Tina Keogh knock out the current number 2, Christine Carr playing good snooker in the last 8 and again continued her form in knocking out another youngster, Roisin Beale from Kildare in the semis to meet Megan in the final.
The final was close with Megan taking the first on a black ball in this best of 3 frame match, frame 2 saw Tina go ahead and had chances to close out the frame to level, however Megan stuck in there bringing it down to yet another black ball finish in which she potted for frame and match.
Congratulations to Megan on her win and to Tina on a great performance. Well done and thanks to all the other players who made the event a great success.
Again much thanks to Bernie & Paul for all their help and support
