The Irish Open Intermediate Competition was contested this time by Michelle O’Boyle and Christine Carr.  This is the first International final for both these players.

Michelle was in fine form going into the event after the round robin stages of the main event after her National 6 Red win in July, Michelle kept up the good standard of play as she made the final.

Christine was excited to get to the final after a good season on the RILSA tour so far.

The first frame went down to a black ball which Michelle potted to go into the lead.  The second frame was also close but Michelle pipped it on the colours.  The 3 frame in this best of 5 saw Michelle go up a gear and got over the line with a 56-15 result to win her first International title.

Congratulations to Michelle on her great win and indeed to Christine on her fine performance through the event.

Thanks to the RILSA Board and Committee for all their hard work and to Derek Fagan and staff once again for all their help.

A big thank you to everyone involved, to our sponsors, supporters and Mick Fitz for all his support.  Thanks again to all our referees and to Clr Deirdre Heney who was on hand representing the Lord Mayor of Dublin at our presentation of prizes.

6 Red result to follow along with the Home Nations Challenge soon.
