Paula Judge from Dublin claimed her second RILSA Ranking title recently at Sharkx Newbridge.  Paula now moves into 8th place on the RILSA provisional rankings after winning the Kildare Ladies Open.

On her way to the final Paula didn’t drop a frame with wins over Rachel Bradley (Kildare) last 16, Emirjeta Doda (Dublin) Quarters and Sandra Bryan (Wexford) and Irish number 2 in the semis, with breaks of 28 and 32 along the way.  In the other half of the draw we saw the current number 1, Annette Newman from Carlow also having wins without dropping frames over Roisin Beale (Kildare) last 16, Tina Keogh (Laois) Quarters and Christine Carr (Kildare) in the Semis to meet Paula in the final.

The first frame was close with Annette just needing a snooker to win with pink and black on the table, Annette was unfortunate to see the pink drop into the top left pocket after a bout of trying for the snooker to give Paula the first.  The second frame started with a spell of safety play however Paula got in to have a few small breaks of 16,17, with another bout of safety Paula got a good chance to close out the frame with a good break of 25 to take frame and the title.

Congratulations to Paula on her win and to Annette on her fine performance.

In the Intermediate Ranking 4, Emirjeta Doda took her first Intermediate win over Valerie Maloney, on her way to the final Emirjeta had wins over Roisin Beale and Tina Keogh, while Valerie had wins over Englentina Doda and Aine Brennan for the final place.  Congratulations to Emirjeta on her win and to Valerie on a great performance.
