World number 4, Rebecca Kenna from the UK has just taken the International Irish Open title in Dublin after a fantastic display of snooker over the weekend at Joey’s Snooker Centre in Dublin.

Rebecca Kenna started well in first two frames with a number of 20+ breaks and a 34 to go into an early lead against the World number 13 Shannon Metcalf and closed out well on the colours in frame 3 to put her within easy reach of the 4th frame required to take the title.

After the mid session interval it was Shannon who stepped up a gear and with a good 29 break took frame 4.  Frame 5 was nip and tuck for the most part going down to a black ball finish which Shannon potted to close the gap to just 1 frame in this best of 7.

Frame 6 was close for a while but when Rebecca got a good opportunity to push ahead, she did clearing up to the pink ball to take frame and match.

Congratulations to Rebecca on her win and to Shannon for her fine performance.  Congratulations to Paula Judge on taking the High Break prize with a great 49 in the round robin stages.  Well done to Annette Newman on reaching the semis of the event also.
