The Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association held their AGM recently at their new HQ Academy at Sharkx Newbridge.
The meeting was very constructive with many new initiatives being introduced for the new season ahead. With three newly elected committee members who are very enthusiastic about helping the ladies sport and building a bright future for RILSA.
The new RILSA Academy at Sharkx Newbridge will be completed soon and this is history in the making as it will be the first ever ladies snooker academy in Ireland and specific to women’s snooker, billiards and cue sports. More to follow on this very soon.
The ladies International Open is confirmed and will take place in Joey’s Dublin and entries to date is 20 with the closing date extended to 15th July 2016.
The Open will take place from Friday 5th to Tuesday 9th August 2016 with an opening ceremony on the Friday and the competition commencing on Saturday 6th.
The RILSA 10 year plan is almost 3 years ahead of its projected targets with membership now standing at 400 along with 300 schools and 40 clubs on its membership, so all looking fantastic indeed.
RILSA now have 115 snooker tables in schools and other locations covering every county in Ireland, yet again another first for ladies cue sports.
We are extremely proud of our success and all without funding, just help and positive support from all our schools and many like minded people who believe in our vision for the future.
