The Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association held their Annual General Meeting at the RILSA Academy HQ in Sharkx Newbridge on Saturday 10th June 2017

The AGM was well attended with many topics raised and discussed.  The overall opinion of those in attendance was one of positive and progressive attitude towards women’s cue sports.

The following progress since the reformation of the Association in June 2014 is astounding to say the least as a new vibrant Association has been developed and now stands proud of their success in such a very short period.

  • 4. National Intermediate Championship Est in 2014 with 6 Ranking events

  • 7. National 6 Red Championship Est 2015
  • 8. Referees Panel Est in 2014 with 1st Official Course held in 2016
  • 9. Coaching Panel Est in 2015 with 1st Official Course held in 2017
  • 10. Constitution, Rules & Guidelines Est
  • 11. 5 New Regional Associations Est – Dublin-Leinster-Connaught-Munster & Ulster
  • 12. County Federations Est along with 3 County Championships held to date
  • 13. 300 member Schools & Colleges
  • 14. 100 Youth Reach Centres
  • 15. 30 Snooker Clubs Joined
  • 16. Application for Recognition as an NGB
  • 17. International Irish Open Est 2015
  • 18. Snooker Coaching

  • 20. 16 young players on RILSA Scholarship in 2016
  • 21. Anti- Doping Officer Appointed

  • 34. Review on the Snooker & Billiards Sector Carried out by Maeve Buckley of Line Up Sports
  • 35. 120 Tables in Schools etc.
  • 36. 20,000 Children now have direct access to the sport
  • 37. 38. KCLR, KFM, RTE 2 FM & Midlands Radio Stations along with Dublin City FM in support
  • 39. National Ranking List Est in Snooker & Billiards
  • 40. Griffith Pin Award initiated in 2014
  • 41. National Certificates for top Ranked Players

  • 2. WICA Day to include 10 Red Snooker, Billiards, 8,9 & Black Ball Pool
  • 3. Website Shop to be set up
  • 4. Videos section to be set up on website
  • 5. Documentary on RILSA
  • 6. Establishment of Junior Development Officer
  • 7. Pink Ribbon Event for 2018

ELECTION OF THE BOARD

The current Board Members of RILSA were re-elected unopposed and will now set out their plan for the next 3 years of their appointment.
