Carlow Sports Partnership in association with the Irish Sports Council facilitated the Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association recently by hosting a Child Protection Course to qualify our members in this very important awareness course.

This is a vital part of our Association going forward as we want everyone who wishes to volunteer their services by way of refereeing, coaching or part of the organising committee, to have this qualification before they take up positions within the Association.

Along with Garda Vetting, the Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association have a clear policy for anyone wishing to become involved, that we have these two important areas addressed before hand.

We had 14 persons on the course and we will have more people completing these courses during the months and years ahead.  We already have a number of people interested in course 2 that is due sometime in June 2016.

Everyone who attended the course were very happy with the course and got a great deal out of it and will certainly apply the knowledge gained during their time with RILSA.

Thanks to Ken Kavanagh on his excellent instruction and information supplied during the evening.  Thanks to Sandra Corrigan form Carlow Sports Partnership for her help and support.
