The Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds was the venue for the UK Ladies Championship recently. RILSA had 7 representatives for this event and all our players had a great time and gave as good as they got during the two day event.
Ann McMahon, Sandra Bryan and Jeong Min Park qualified through the group stages to the last 16 but were unfortunate not to go further in the event. Annette Newman had a good run in both the plate and senior events reaching the semis of both while Margaret Browne, Laura Alves reached the quarters of the senior’s and Ronda Sheldrick put in a good show during her matches and coming close in a number of matches but the score line did not show the real effort.
Ng On Yee from China took the main event title beating Reanne Evans 5-1 in the final. Another great win for On Yee over the 10 times Ladies World Champion. High break prize went to Reanne with a 102
We in RILSA congratulate Ng On Yee on her win and to Reanne on her fine performance.
Congratulations to all our players for doing so well and flying the flag for Ireland once again. We are very proud of your efforts and the sporting manner in which our players conducted themselves.
Thanks to the WLBSA organising committee for their kind welcome and congratulations on the success of the Championship and thanks to LITEtask and the Northern Snooker Centre for the sponsorship and believing in the Ladies Sport of Snooker.
