The 2017-2018 RILSA Intermediate Season ended in late March 2018 having run another very successful season with 96 women & girls taking part.
The success of our Intermediate tour is all down to the hard work and determination of the RILSA Board and Committee along with the support of so many great people within our schools/colleges and youth reach centres around the Country.
The top 16 players have really improved their standard throughout the season along with the many others who supported women’s cue sports here in Ireland. While many girls continue to participate in our schools, we are seeing an increase each year in the numbers coming out to play in the Intermediate Tour.
Christine Carr from Kildare retains her number 1 spot for the second year while Rachel Bradley also from Kildare who was 9th last season moves into number 2 spot. Tina Keogh from Laois also holds onto her number 3 spot for the second season, having had a great season. Number 4, Susan Hanlon (Dublin) is down to 7th place this time having missed out on a few events while Grace Byrne (Carlow) takes 4th this time having held 6th last year.
Emirjeta Doda (Dublin) retains 5th spot on the Rankings while the number 2 Valerie Maloney (Offaly) takes 6th spot after a good season but missed out on a few events also. Young Katie French from Kildare who was 29th last year is at number 8th this season, great improvement for all these ladies.
Roisin Beale (Kildare), Rosie Young (Laois), Clodagh Walsh (Carlow), Tara Byrne (Carlow), Aine Brennan (Carlow) and Grace Brennan (Kildare) have all made it to the top 16 this season, great achievement for all these ladies.
Out of the top 16 goes, Englentina Doda (Dublin),Neicy Kavanagh (Carlow), Emma Carr (Kildare), Faye Jameson (Dublin), Lisa Kavanagh (Dublin) and Lucinda Monaghan (Kildare). However these ladies are very capable of making it back to the top 16 once again if they participate and do well during the new RILSA Intermediate Tour season which starts in May 2018.
Congratulations to all our players and supporters during the past season and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
