The Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association National Intermediate Snooker Tour Season finished on 14th March with our 5th Intermediate Ranking event.

The season saw 52 players compete at this level.  Christine Carr from Kildare finished the season number 1 for the 3rd time in the six seasons of Intermediate female snooker in Ireland.  She won 3 out of the 5 events this season which is a great result for her.

Number 2 spot goes to another Kildare native and newcomer to the Intermediate Tour, Joanna Ward.  Joanna won two events and was runner up in another this season, deserves her number 2 spot on the rankings, she will be one to watch for next season.

Young Jennifer Earle from Dublin went one better this time round finishing 3rd on the rankings after her 5th spot last season in her first season with RILSA.  Jennifer is ever improving and will be out to improve on this again next season.

4th place is Tina Keogh from Offaly who has held 3rd spot for the past three seasons and was number 1 back in 2016.  Tina’s improvement at Intermediate level and consistency is fantastic, she is on the verge of turning Amateur in the near future as her results on the Amateur tour is going well also.

Into 5th place and a top 8 spot for the first time is that of Stephanie Morrison’s from Carlow.  Stephanie moved up the rankings over the past two seasons having entered at 73rd during the 2017-2018 season, making a top 32 spot last season at 21st and now 5th place is a fantastic achievement for her.

It was great to see three young players from St Marks School in Newbridge making the top 8 for the very first time this season.  At 6th is Sileena Ennis, 7th is Celine Chelairu and 8th is Aoife Williams, this goes to show that our promotions at school level is making great progress.  We at RILSA are delighted for these young players and wish them every success for the future.

Players who dropped out of the top 8 this season are former number 1, Valerie Maloney from Offaly, Rachael Bradley from Kildare, Megan Randle, Carrie Randle and Suzanne Randle all from Kilklenny, we hope to see them back next season and compete to gain their places in the top 8.

Thanks to all our players who participated during the season and helped make our organisation a great success for female cue sports in Ireland.
