Tina Keogh joined RILSA in 2014 when she was at one of the Stars Academy events that her son Robbie was participating in at Joey’s Dublin. She immediately got the bug for playing snooker after a few coaching sessions and hasn’t looked back since.
At the RILSA AGM in 2015, Tina took over the position of National Secretary from Leona O’Connor and has done fantastic work for our Association over the past 3 years. Tina has filled a number of positions within RILSA, such as RILSA Leinster Region Chairperson, Laois & Longford County Secretary and Secretary of the recently formed Women’s Irish Cue Sports Association.
As a player, Tina reached the final of the 2014 Inaugural Intermediate Championship and in 2015 was runner-up in the RILSA International Irish Open 6 Red Event.
Her first title win came in 2016 when she took the National Intermediate Championship followed with a win at the Irish Open taking the 6 Red event, so showing much improvement in a short period.
Tina took up Billiards during 2016 and reached two finals in the National Billiards Ranking events.
In 2017 Tina won the Inaugural Offaly County Championship and took the National Intermediate Ranking 3 event at Sharkx Newbridge in November 2017. Tina also won two plate events during 2017 with the National 6 Red plate & Maureen Butler plate events.
Tinal has reached 4 other semi finals over the past 3 years and is improving all the time.
On the National Rankings, Tina held 7th spot in 2015 & 2016 and remained in the top 8 at number 8 in 2017, currently provisional 10th going into the last few rankings of the season. It goes to show her support and commitment in participation at RILSA events over the past 3 years.
On the Intermediate National Rankings, Tina was number 1 in 2016 and 3rd in 2017 while she is currently 5th on the provisional rankings, again great success at this level also.
Her commitment to RILSA and our initiatives is outstanding and we are lucky to have such a great woman on board to help keep the ship afloat at RILSA.
