St Laserians Special School in Carlow joined RILSA in 2012 and had a full size table installed in 2013.  The table facility at St Laserians has been a fantastic asset for the school.

Over 100 students have participated in the sport since it’s introduction at the school which is absolutely phenomenal promotion in such a short period.

Since joining RILSA many of the girls have taken silverware at the National Special Needs Championships.

Neicy Kavanagh was runner-up in the Special Championship in 2015 and Liz Lawlor & Shannon Fields reached the semis.  Neicy went on to take the National Special Championship title in 2016 along with reaching the semis of the Carlow County Championship in 2017.

Shannon Wilson was runner-up in the Championship in 2017 with Jodie Moore making it to the semis.

Shannon Wilson reached the final of the Special Championship again in 2018 with Jodie Moore making it to the Carlow County Championship final.

All in all the girls from St Laserians have done exceptionally well on the Special Needs Circuit over the past 5 years and they are improving all the time.

Fergal O’Brien’s visit to the School in 2017 brought a new vigor and excitement to the students who wish to pursue cue sports and we at RILSA thank Fergal for his support.

A huge thanks to all the girls who support RILSA events and to all the teachers at the school for their continued support, especially the Principal Deirdre, teachers John, Rachel, Pauline, Angela, who are really so supportive of the sport and are very much aware of the benefits is has to all those who participate in snooker at the school.

We look forward to many more great years with St Laserians Carlow as we continue to promote cue sports to all the students at the school.
