The Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association are proud to announce the establishment of their first ever official female cue sports Academy at Sharkx Newbridge.  This is the first of it’s kind in Ireland and indeed the World as RILSA leads the way forward in their promotions and development plan for female sport.

The Board of RILSA would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the Sports Capital Programme via the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport for funding towards tables and equipment.

This facility at Sharkx will now give our members the equipment and facilities to help them progress in the sport and we look forward to many years of positive progress in female cue sports.

This first class facility at Sharkx Newbridge is the result of a great deal of hard work by fantastic people who came together to support and help see this new initiative become a reality.

Thanks to the Board of RILSA for all their help in ensuring a smooth process.  Thanks to Ger Dunphy for all his help along with Maurice for installing 4 Shender Steel Back Snooker Tables at our Academy recently, a fantastic first class job as always.  Thanks to Anne Vaughan and Brendan Ingram at the Department for all their help and guidance throughout the process.

A special thanks to Paul, Bernie and staff at Sharkx for their endless support and providing the space in their club so  that this facility would become a reality.  This is only the beginning of a new era for female sport and a great deal of work is ongoing in the background by Paul and staff at Sharkx to complete the renovations at the RILSA Academy at Sharkx Newbridge.

We look forward to seeing the final result, we are sure it will be amazing, more to follow on this in the near future.
