The Stars All Ireland Championship took place recently at the RILSA Academy in Sharkx Newbridge with a good turnout of players from around the country.  Counties Kildare, Carlow, Kilkenny,Offaly, Laois & Cavan were represented.

Robbie Keogh from Laois was in fine form throughout and reached the final with good 2 nil wins over Cian Costello (Kildare) last 16, Lee Maloney (Offaly) in the Quarters and Luke O’Callaghan (Laois) in the semis while in the other half of the draw we saw Sean O’Connor from Kilkenny take good wins over Cody Graham (Cavan) last 16, a good 2 – 1 win over Jack Maloney (Offaly) in the Quarters and Leon Costello(Kildare) 2-0 in the semis to make a final showdown against Robbie Keogh

Robbie started well taking the first frame but Sean responded with a great 37 break in frame 2 to level the match however Robbie kept his cool and played great snooker in the 3rd to take it on the colours to win his first Stars All Ireland Title

Congratulations to Robbie on his win and to Sean on his fine performance

Well done to all the players and it was great to see two girls take part and show that they can keep up with the boys.  Grace Byrne reached the quarters of the main event.

The plate competition was won by Tristan Graham from Cavan with a good 2-0 result over the up and coming star Liam Colleran from Kildare.  Tristan had to play good snooker to overcome the fight from Rachel Bradley who won the National Special Needs during the week in their semi final match and Liam was delighted to see off the great effort from Grace Byrne from Carlow which he won 2-1 on a pink ball finish in their semi final match

Congratulations to Tristan on his win and to Liam on a great performance, it was a great success at Sharkx Newbridge and we thank Bernie & Paul for their ever ending support towards junior snooker.  A big thank you to all the parents and supporters who helped and made the day at Sharkx a great success.
