The Griffith Snooker Masters Tour 3 took place at Sharkx Newbridge this Easter weekend. The standard of play was very good throughout the event. The earlier rounds saw breaks of 43 from Steve Patten and 34 from Dan Carroll and numerious 27’s to 30’s from Dave Seales, Ronan Deegan and Simon Scott. In the semi final stages Dan Carroll overcame a good performance from Dave Seales to win 2 frames to 1 with breaks of 25 and 30 for a place in his second Tour final of the season. Ronan Deegan also overcame a good performance from Simon Scott also winning 2-1 to meet Dan in the final. The final itself was a scrappy affair with Ronan taking the first on the Pink ball. In frame 2 Dan started well with a few small breaks of 15 and 19 but failed to capitalise on his chances, Ronan had a good 26 to get back into the frame and after a bout of safety Ronan got through the colours to take the frame and title of Griffith Masters Champion 2014.

The plate final was contested between Annette Newman and Gary Seales with the match level on 1-1 Annette played very well to go into a good lead but Gary potted his way back to keep the scores close. In the end it came down to a black ball which Gary potted to give him the plate event. Congratulations to Ronan on his win and to Gary on winning the plate competition. Thanks to everyone who played and supported on the day. The Tour standings are Dan Carroll in number 1 spot closely followed in second by Ronan Deegan and Annette Newman in third place and Steve Patten holding fourth.  The Plate ranking sees Steve Patten top the table with Dave Seales in second spot followed in third by Gary Seales and holding fourth place Annette Newman. The prize fund is building each tour event and its important for those in the top 4 places on the tour and plate rankings to try and hold or improve their places as this is where the main prize fund counts. Thanks to Bernie of Sharkx for her support and as always providing excellent playing conditions.
