Sandra Bryan from Breakers Gorey retained the Ladies Griffith Cup at Joey’s Dublin recently beating Annette Newman from Carlow 2 nil in the final. Sandra now goes into number 1 spot on the rankings closely followed by Annette in 2nd place.
Sandra had good wins over Christine Carr (Kildare) last 16, Laura Alves (Dublin) Quarters and Jeong Min Park (Dublin) Semis, to reach the final. Annette also in great form had wins over Rachel Doran (Carlow) last 16, Emirjeta Doda (Dublin) Quarters and Aine Brennan (Carlow) Semis, to meet Sandra in the final.
Both these ladies have dominated the RILSA season to date and have set the standard for those in pursuit of making finals in the future. Congratulations to Sandra on her win and gaining the number 1 spot and congrats to Annette on her fine performance.
Congratulations to Christine Carr on winning the Intermediate Ranking and congrats to Englentina Doda on runner up spot. Christine now takes the number 1 spot on the National Intermediate Rankings followed closely by Laura Alves.
Well done to Jeong and Aine on reaching their first semi final places, we will see a lot more from these players during the season.
The Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association now has 71 players on their National Ranking list and 39 on the National Intermediate Ranking list, what an achievement in 15 months.
