The Sharkx B Team made up of Peter McDermot & Christine Carr retained their Leinster Cup title at the CYMS Newbridge recently.

In the semi finals against Sharkx A, made up of Leon Costello & Alan Beale, it was to go all the way to the last frame to see who would advance into the final.  With both teams on a two frame start in this run to 5.  Leon took the first frame against Peter while Christine won her first frame against Alan, making it 3-3 at this stage.  Leon took the next against Peter while Christine responded as before to again level the match at 4-4.

It was now all on the last frame between Peter & Leon, Leon had chances to close out the frame on the blue but Peter took full advantage in potting blue and pink for frame and match to reach the final for the second time.

Morristown Team of Richard Cullen and John Dempsey were drawn against Newbridge Town of John Seery and Declan Tuohy.  Morristown had a 1 frame start while Newbridge Town were 3 frames up in the run to 5 only needing two to reach the final, however Morristown dug deep with Richard taking his two frames against John Seery and again John Dempsey played well to see off Declan with a 2 frame win to see them into the final of the Cup.

The final started well for the Sharkx B team with Christine taking the first frame on the black against John while Peter had to play well against Richard to take his first frame, now 4 frames to 1 up in this run to 5.  Again Peter was keeping in touch with Richard all the way to take it on the pink ball to retain the title for Sharkx B

Congratulations to Peter & Christine on retaining the title and well done to Richard & John on a great performance.

Thanks to Jim Carrick and Brendan of the CYMS for all their help and support in providing excellent facilities for our event.
