Dan Carroll the RILSA National Head Coach held a free coaching day in both snooker & billiards at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently.

A number of players availed of this free day at Sharkx where they were put through their paces in both cue sport disciplines.

Dan was delighted with the overall improvement among the players and especially our scholarship players, Roisin Beale and Jennifer Earle who are really making great progress.

Roisin just recently had a great success in the billiards Intermediate 1 where she won all 3 matches on the night and made a personal high score of 53 in a 30 minute match.

Jennifer is steadily making progress in snooker showing that her technique is much improved but has still to get her alignment correct as she is only a fraction out at the moment.  Dan said “that its all down to positive practical practice of both skill, technique and mind set”.  Jennifer has only started the billiards and is keen to get more involved during the season ahead.

All the ladies had a great day at Sharkx and are looking forward to our next coaching day in March.  In the meantime we have our 4th National Ranking event the Ladies Dublin Open on in D’Arcy McGees, Spawell on Saturday 23rd February and names of those wishing to enter must be by Tuesday 19th February to facilitate the draw also coming up is our 2nd Intermediate Billiards Ranking on Thursday 28th February at Sharkx Newbridge.
