After their 7-4 win over Century City in the Quarter Finals, Sportslink had a close encounter with Clontarf in the semis with the score level at 6-6, it came down to a re spot black in the final frame between Paul Harrison (Sportslink) and Niall Pollitt (Clontarf), with Paul eventually potting after a bout of play, to take Sportslink into the final of the Cup event.
Griffith A team made up of Dave Seales and Darragh Hackett took a 7-5 win over Griffith B team of Gary Seales and Killian Rock in their semi final match to meet Sportslink in the final.
After the first round of frames between Sportslink & Griffith A, both teams were level at 3-3 and it was the first team to reach 7 would win the Cup, again after 4 more frames the sides were level at 5-5, Oisin Mac Fheari took the next frame against Dave Seales to put Sportslink into the lead, while Paul Harrison and Darragh Hackett were fighting it out on the other table with Darragh having chances to make the scores level once again, however Paul kept on the pressure to bring it down to a black ball finish, in which he potted for frame and match to give Sportslink their first ever Dublin Snooker Federation Cup title.
Congratulations to the Sportslink team on their great win and to Griffith A for their great effort.
