The finals of the Griffith Snooker Tour season was played at Sharkx, Newbridge recently and the competition was tense as the qualifiers got their matches underway for the title and the big prize fund. Once again this tour was a great success and everyone really enjoyed the events and agreed that it was organised and played in good spirit and that at the end everyone got something back. In the semis Steve Patten was in fine form against Dan Carroll in the first frame with a good break of 32 to secure it, however the second frame was a much closer affair going down to the black which Steve eventually potted to take him through to the final. Dave Seales was also in good form and won his semi final match 2 nil against Paddy Fagan with breaks of 34 and 40 along the way. The final was very tense with both players playing very good safety and really only going for the precentage shots, Steve Patten took the first on the pink and it went down to a black in the second again which Steve took on the double to give him the win and title of Tour Champion 2013. A big thank you to everyone who took part and supported this season and with the interest growing it may break the €5,000 prize fund next season. thanks to all the clubs who hosted these events and provided excellent playing conditions. Thanks to Bernie of Sharkx for all her help and especially in hosting the finals this time.
