The 3rd ladies National Intermediate Billiards Ranking event was won by Tina Keogh recently making it two events in a row for the Offaly woman in a very close contest at Sharkx Newbridge.

Tina started well against current number 1 Valerie Maloney taking their match 42-32 in this timed round robin event. Valerie had to dig deep against the youngster Roisin Beale to take a win in their match 35-32 with a final surge of 11 points as the seconds counted down.

Roisin started well against Tina going 28 points up to nil after 20 minutes of play, however Tina got right back into the match but was unable to take it in the final seconds as Roisin came out the winner 39-32, however Tina had accumulated the points only just take event 2 at Sharkx with only 7 points separating 3rd place and 1st.

A very close contest indeed and it will all come down to the last ranking and Championship to see who finishes number 1. Anything can happen as all these players are very capable of making the cut.

We wish Stephanie Morrison a speedy recovery from an injury and hope to see her back on the ladies Billiard circuit very soon.

Tina now heads the National Provisional Intermediate Billiards Rankings after her win at Sharkx, followed closely by Valerie in 2nd and Roisin in a close 3rd spot.

Congratulations to Tina on her win and to Roisin on a great performance, thanks to all the players for their participation and a big thank you to Bernie and Paul of Sharkx for their continued support towards ladies Billiards here in Ireland.
