The last Intermediate Billiards Ranking event of the 2019 season, saw Valerie Maloney from Offaly continue her good form as she won event 4 at the CYMS Newbridge recently, along with the win, Valerie now retains her number 1 spot on the Intermediate National Rankings.

Valerie had a tough match against Tina Keogh from Laois in this round robin timed event as both players kept close all the way, with seconds to go Tina potted a red as the alarm went to level the match at 41-41 each.

Valerie’s next match against Roisin Beale (Kildare) again was a close finish with Valerie just gaining ground towards the end with a number of small breaks to finish 39-34 on Roisin

Roisin started well against Tina going ahead by 20 points before Tina got on the board however Tina clawed her way back into the match but time ran out on the clock and Roisin won 29-21 to take runner up spot on the evening by only 1 point separating them.

Congratulations to Valerie on her win and to Roisin on a fine performance.  Well done to Tina who had a great season also to finish number 2 just 200 points adrift of Valerie, while Roisin took 3rd place on the rankings followed by Stephanie Morrison (Carlow) in 4th.
