The largest ever attendance of young girls to cue sports competition in the history of female cue sports here in Ireland was supported by our Schools and organised by Female Cue Sports Ireland at their Academy Sharkx Newbridge
We will see this record broken in 2026 as we progress our developments in this area
Recently 48 girls entered the National Cue Sports Under 21 Championships in Snooker, Billiards and Pool at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge
The girls represented their Schools in Kildare, Monaghan, Wexford and Wicklow. This is all due to the hard work done by Female Cue Sports Ireland cumulating over the past three years through engaging, coaching, encouraging and providing tables to our member Schools around Ireland as part of our strategic development plan to increase participation and visibility for female cue sports
We are proud of our progress to date and impressed with the positive response to our initiatives within our Schools. We have set up 10 National School Academies within our member Schools and this will increase further in 2026
The girls in attendance at our Academy in Newbridge had a fantastic time playing cue sports. Our Coaches Dan Carroll, Aidan Murray, Ciara Doyle were impressed with the standard of play and most important they had fun and really enjoyed the events
A full report on each event will be published soon on our website
