With the introduction of the Intermediate Championships and Ranking events, RILSA have seen a huge increase in the numbers of women and girls take to the sport of snooker over the past 8 years. This new initiative has been very successful as the various standards of players are catered for.
Women and girls who are only starting out playing the sport, can now enjoy it at their own level and if they wish to move up to Amateur level they can by improving over a period of time with help, encouragement and professional coaching that is now available to all our members from the coaching team at RILSA.
Congratulations to Stephanie Foley on retaining the number 1 spot. Tina Keogh has gone from 8th spot last season to number 2 this time a great result for her. Christine Carr also improved her ranking from 6th to 3rd spot and Jennifer Earle moved up one from 5th to 4th. Newcomer Louise Maher made a top 8 place in her first season on tour reaching 5th place along with 5 other newcomers reaching the top 16 in their first season, 12th Grushenka Arnold, 13th Mini Morris, 14th Elizabeth Lynch, 15th Nafeesa Naz and 16th Laura Hughes. Great to see so many newcomers to our tour as we make progress in our developments. Other players in the top 8 are Joanna Ward down from 3rd to 6th and Carrie Randle down from 2nd to 7th while Valerie Maloney moved up one from 8th to 7th spot.
