Annette Newman from Carlow had another very successful billiards season in 2020. Her dominance in female billiards since its inception in 2015 has seen her go from strength to strength each season.
Having won all 6 National Ranking events during 2020 and capped the season off with the National Amateur Championship for the 6th time, keeps Annette Irish number 1. An amazing achievement for her.
While Annette sets the standard in female billiards, there are a number of players who are making their mark on the tour.
Chrsitine Carr, has been on the heels of Annette for the past 5 years while newcomer, Joanna Ward has certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons in her first season on tour making great progress and taking the 100 Up National Title. Stephanie Foley and Jennifer Earle are improving all the time while Valerie Maloney is dominating the Intermediate tour with good success on the main tour also.
Congratulations to Annette on her fantastic success and to all the girls for their support and participation. We are delighted to see their improvement. Thanks to Bernie, Paul of Sharkx for all their support. Thanks to our National Billiards Coach Aidan Murray for all his help and support throughout the season.
We look forward to seeing you all in the near future
