Annette Newman from Carlow took the National Amateur Billiards Ranking event the Sharkx Open in Newbridge recently after a good display of Billiards throughout the event
Annette Newman from Carlow got off to a good start with a 88-51 win over Jackie Trulock from Dublin in their timed round robin match in group 1. Jackie took the win against Savannah Keane from Dublin 50-41 in their match and Annette followed on with a 76-42 win over Savannah to a place in the final
Group 2 saw Christine Carr from Kildare having to dig deep against Joanna Ward from Kildare to finish with a 8 point overall win on the alarm 82-74. Delia Keane from Dublin had a good win over Christine in their match taking the win on the alarm in a close game 66-60. Again Delia took her match against Joanna to the final minutes as the clock ticked down to pip Joanna on the alarm 82-78 to reach her first Amateur Billiards Ranking on tour
In the final Delia had chances and played strong for the most part however experience towards the end with Annette taking the win on the alarm 95-78
