
Claire Mill from Dublin continues her winning streak as she takes the Kildare Snooker Open title at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently
A great turnout for this event as we near the end of the 2025-2026 season and places up for grabs for our team and individual International challenge events later in the year
At the last 16 stage Claire Mill from Dublin and the number 1 seed on the day got off to a good start with a 2 nil win over Veronica Hallahan from Dublin. Christine Carr from Kildare had to dig deep against Tine Keogh from Offaly to get through with a 2 nil win on very close frames to meet Claire in the Quarters.
Our current National U21 Champion Qianhui Ye from Wicklow had a good 2-1 win over Joanna Ward from Kildare to advance. Margaret Browne from Meath went through over Delia Keane from Dublin to complete the first half of the draw
At the other end of the last 16 draw Annette Newman from Carlow went through over Savannah Keane from Dublin and Valerie Maloney from Laois had to dig deep against the youngster Anna McKeown from Monaghan to meet Annette in the Quarters. Jackie Trulock from Dublin got a bye to the Quarters and the number 2 seed Cathy Dunne from Dublin advanced to meet Jackie in the quarters with a 2 nil win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin
Claire took a 2 nil win over Christine for a place in the semis and Margaret had to draw on all her experience to get over the line against Qianhui on a 2-1 scoreline to meet Claire in the semis
At the other end of the draw Annette had a good 2 nil win over Valerie to advance to the semis and Cathy had a good 2 nil win over Jackie in their match to advance and complete the semi final line up


Claire had to play well against Margaret who had chances in both frames to but Claire finished strong to get the result 2-0 for a place in the final. Annette struggled to get form against Cathy who took the win 2 nil to set up a meeting with Claire in the final
The final would go all the way to the 3rd frame down to the colours with Claire potting the blue to seal the win and take the title of Kildare Snooker Open Champion 2026
Congratulations to Claire on her win and well done to Cathy on a fine performance. Well done to all the players on the day and thanks for all your support
