Our National 10 Red Snooker Championship was held at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge on Saturday 19th July 2025. The Cup is known as the Margaret Browne Perpetual Cup in dedication to over 50 years support and work with RILSA. Margaret who was present at the event was delighted to continue to participate in our tour and we are delighted to see her continue on the tour.
Claire Mill from Dublin just added the RILSA National 10 Red Snooker Championship title to her recent National 6 Red Snooker title in just over four weeks.
At the Quarter final stage of the Championship Claire Mill from Dublin had a good 2 nil win over Jackie Trulock from Dublin to make it through to the semis. Joanna Ward from Kildare had a 2 frames to nil win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin to set up a semi final meeting with Claire
The bottom half of the draw saw Margaret Browne from Meath take a 2 nil win over Christine Carr from Kildare in a very close match taking both frames on the black to advance to the semis. 11 year old Qianhui Ye from Wicklow and Veronica Hallahan from Dublin went 1-1 with the final frame going all the way to a black ball with Qianhui taking it to reach the semis and a contest against Margaret
Claire continued her form against Joanna in their semi final match to take the win 2 frames to nil and a place in the final. On the other table it was a close contest between Margaret and Qianhui with the match levelled 1-1, the 3rd and final frame was close for the most part with Margaret having chances, however Qianhui played good snooker to overcome the challenge and take the frame needed on the colours and to reach her first ever final on the RILSA main tour
In the final Claire showed all her experience over the youngster and took the the win 2 frames to nil. Congratulations to Claire on her win and well done to Qianhui on her fine performance throughout, showing great promise for the future and certainly one to watch as she progresses
Thanks to all the ladies for their participation and support. Thanks to Stephanie and Martin Foley who officiated throughout the day. Thanks to Dave Earle who refereed the final and last but not least a big thank you as always to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their support
