The 6th staging of the RILSA Griffith Pot Black Snooker Championship took place recently at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge.  Claire Mill from Dublin won the event on this occasion, gaining her free entry to all RILSA Snooker events from May 2026

The qualifying criteria for this event is those who receive the Griffith Pin award after reaching participation in over 40 events on one tour or 60 events if a player is playing in both snooker and billiards.  The pin must be worn on the day of the event in order to participate

This event is played on a 1 frame knockout format and is unique to our tour.  At the quarter final stage of the event Christine Carr from Kildare went through to the semis over Tina Keogh from Offaly, Cathy Dunne from Dublin took the win over Joanna Ward from Kildare to advance to meet Christine in the semis

At the bottom half of the draw  Claire Mill had a close encounter against  Annette Newman from Carlow and took the win on the pink ball for a place in the semis.  Veronica Hallahan from Dublin overcame a close match against Valerie Maloney from Laois to make it through and complete the semi final line up

In the semis Cathy continued her good form  and took the frame needed for a place in the final against Christine and Claire won her frame against Veronica to meet Cathy in the final

In the final Cathy had chances towards the end to take the frame however Claire held firm and potted the colours to take the win.
