Elsie Whelan won the Inaugural Kildare Junior Billiards League recently after a number of weeks where she along with nine other girls competed in a timed round robin event. Elsie took to Billiards with ease and showed great improvement over the weeks of the league. Niamh Shannon took the runner up place
As the weeks progressed all the girls learned the rules and a few of the half ball shots with the help and coaching from Aidan Murray who is doing great work with our juniors
Isabella Smith and Aoife Murphy took 3rd and 4th place respectively followed by Sadie Daly, Roisin Douglas, Anna Mulpeter, Sadhbh Simpson, Aoife Martin and Lily O’Connor
It was a fantastic three months of competition in all three disciplines, Snooker, Billiards and Pool where all the girls excelled in cue sports for their very first time, we hope to see these girls go on to better things in the future now that they have a stepping stone to play in competition at the various levels that Female Cue Sports Ireland have set
Congratulations to Elsie on her win and well done to Niamh on her runner up place. Thanks to all the girls for their participation and support, we wish them all every success in cue sports in the future. Thanks to Dearbhail Dowling for all her support and Sarah Allen and all the teachers at the Holy Family School Newbridge
Thanks as always to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for their continued support of female cue sports
