The Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association were successful in obtaining a grant for tables and equipment for their new National Female Cue Sports Academy at Sharkx Newbridge.
This is yet another first for RILSA as we pave the way forward in providing an Academy of Excellence that will help our players develop and progress in cue sports.
The successful collaboration between Sharkx and RILSA sets a new era for female cue sports in Ireland.
This new facility is a testament of the support and hard work done by the Board of RILSA over a two year period in securing the grant, logistics of supply and delivery of the equipment.
Ger Dunphy’s work on purchase and installation of the 4 new shender steel block tables is outstanding and we thank him for all his time and effort.
Thanks to the Department of Sport for all their help in making the process run smooth, in particular Anne, Brendan and Catherine. Thanks also to the National Lottery for their help and support towards the purchase of the tables and equipment.
As you can see from the photos, Paul and Anthony of Sharkx are busy making great renovations to the Academy and we will be reporting on its progress soon on this website.
