
Cathy Dunne from Dublin won the last RILSA National Amateur Snooker Ranking Event of the 2025-2026 season at the Celbridge Snooker Club recently. Cathy finished the season ranked number 2 which is a fantastic result for her.
At the last 16 stage of the event Christine Carr from Kildare had to dig deep to get the 2 nil win over Anna McKeown from Monaghan to advance to the Quarters. Natalia Trochonowicz from Kildare had a good 2 -1 win over Veronica Hallahan for a place in the Quarters and Jackie Trulock from Dublin took a 2 nil win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin for a place in the Quarters
The number 1 seed going into the event Cathy Dunne from Dublin had a good 2 nil win over Christine Carr from Kildare finishing with a 20 break in the second frame to advance to the semis. Joanna Ward from Kildare had to dig deep to overcome a good challenge from Margaret Browne from Meath to take the win 2-1 and a place in the semis. Annette Newman from Carlow had to call on her experience to eventually see of the youngster Natalia Trochonowicz from Kildare in a 2-1 win for a place in the semis and Jackie Trulock from Dublin had a good 2 nil win over Qianhui Ye from Wicklow to complete the semi final line up
In the semis Cathy took the first frame on a black ball after a good response from Joanna. The second frame Cathy took it on the colours to advance to the final. On the other table Jackie took the first frame on a black ball and Annette had chances in the second but again it would go to a black ball finish with Jackie taking it to go through to her first National Amateur Snooker final on tour

In the final Cathy would have to call from all her experience to see off Jackie who has improved her overall game over the season, Cathy took the win 2 frames to nil and the title of Griffith Cup Champion 2026
