Claire Mill from Dublin claimed her second National 6 Red Snooker Championship Title at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently.
At the prelim round Natalia Trochonowicz from Kildare had a good 2 nil win over the seasoned player Louise Maher from Kilkenny, Natalia only on the tour a short time is making headway in events that is raising heads as the youngster makes progress. Valerie Maloney from Laois had a close encounter with Veronica Hallahan from Dublin but eventually got over the line in the 3rd frame on a black ball finish to advance to the Quarters
Tina Keogh from Offaly had a good 2 nil win over Jackie Trulock from Dublin for a place in the Quarters and Claire Mill from Dublin had a comfortable 2 nil win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin to advance and complete the Quarter final line up
In the Quarters, the number 1 seed Cathy Dunne from Dublin got the better of the youngster Natalia Trochonowicz to take a 2 nil win with Cathy showing experience throughout the match. Sandra Bryan from Wexford and a 5 times winner of the National 6 Red was in good form against Valerie to take a 2 nil win for a place in the semis against Cathy
Christine Carr from Kildare took a good 2 nil win over Tina in their Quarter final match to advance to the semis while Claire showing good form took the win against Lynda Curley the number 2 seed from Offaly to complete the semi final line up
Cathy and Sandra shared the first two frames and it would go all the way to a black ball finish with Sandra taking the black for a place in the final and a chance to take this title for the 6th time, Claire continued her form against Christine and took the win 2 frames to nil to play Sandra in the final
The final itself was yet another close match with the sides level at 1-1 it would go all the way to a pink ball finish with Sandra having chances to clear from the blue but let Claire in to pot both blue and pink for game and match
